ECCC volunteers assemble 140 New Years Baskets on March 5, 2022

March 5th, over 40 Elder Care Community Council (ECCC) volunteers packed 140 laundry baskets with household items donated from many generous people.  The volunteers also delivered the baskets to the 60 homebound elders on ECCC’s list in Eastpoint and Apalachicola.  The Forgotten Coast Parrot Head’s showed up to help out and then deliver 20 baskets to Carrabelle seniors and other baskets were picked up at the Holy Family Senior Center in Apalachicola.  It was an amazing group effort that brought smiles to the faces of 140 households in Franklin County.  If you or someone you know is in need, please call us at 850-370-0116.  Pictured below is Jack Cherbert receiving a basket from ECCC Volunteer, Janine Gedman.  Karen Stead, volunteer, hand  knitted dishcloths for the baskets and has already agreed to do this again for next year’s baskets.  If you would like to know more about ECCC, call us at 850-370-0116, like us on Facebook or email us at ecccfranklin@gmail.com or check out our web page at www.ecccfranklin.org.  Save the Date for March 24 at 6pm at Holy Family Senior Center:  CD Release & fundraiser concert for new album Something Light As Light by Riley O”Connor & Molly B.
