Elder Care Community Council of Franklin County, ECCC, announces the 2021 FanRaiser. Summer heat is just around the corner and ECCC is collecting box fans to be donated to help those over age 55 prepare for the summer months and stay cooler. Fans can be dropped off at the Holy Family Senior Center, 203 Dr. Frederick Humphries Drive, Apalachicola, between 10 and 2pm, Monday through Friday, or call us and we will come pick them up. If you would like us to purchase the fans, you can send your donation to: ECCC, PO Box 335, Eastpoint, FL 32328 or go to our PayPal account: PayPal.me/ecccfranklin or click on the Donate button on our web site: www.ecccfranklin.org. Be sure to specify that you want your donation to purchase fans for those in need in the county. In 2020, prior to the pandemic, we served 208 lunches in January and 344 in February at the Holy Family Senior Center. This year, ECCC served 1,408 β to-go” lunches in January and 1,720 βto-go’ in February from Holy Family Senior Center. Outreach to people lacking resources to purchase food has tremendously increased since the pandemic and we need your help to sustain our efforts to continue this service. Fundraising events have been severely restricted and the outpouring of financial assistance is what keeps us going. Generous donors have been wonderfully supportive and we are grateful to the City of Apalachicola for providing and maintaining the building where the meals are prepared. ECCC invites you to join us by making a donation now. We depend on donations to sustain our efforts and we appreciate everyone who has given a contribution. Whether or not you have made a past contribution, now is a great time to do so and support our seniors. 100% of our administration time is volunteer, so all of your donation goes directly toward service delivery.
As more people are getting vaccinated, please stay tuned for updates about reopening activities and lunch at Holy Family Senior Center.
