Newest Volunteers at ECCC

Volunteers really do make a difference in the lives of seniors in Franklin County.  Bonnie Davis’ grandkids, Annaliese and Theo Hovda baked pound cakes for the senior lunch out of Holy Family Senior Center in Apalachicola.
One of the newest volunteers at Elder Care Community Council of Franklin County, ECCC, is Nico Valenzuela, a 17-year old rising senior.  Nico says, “I enjoy contributing to the Apalachicola community by delivering food. I believe it is a privilege to meet the many interesting people along the delivery route and I am grateful for the experience.”  Nico’s parents are Ramon & Marcy Valenzuela of Apalachicola.  The Eastpoint High Calling Church donated many cases of food and bags of food to ECCC for delivery out to the homebound and for the daily lunches served ‘to-go’ from Holy Family Senior Center in Apalachicola. Included in the High Calling Church donations were soups, mashed potatoes, applesauce, pancake mix, peanut butter and other non-perishable foods. You can also make a donation of food or money or be a volunteer for ECCC and help delver meals during the lunch hour to the homebound elders on our list.  If you or someone you know is in need, please call us at 850-370-0116.The ECCC SGI 5K Sizzler 5K Race & One Mile Fun Run is August 7th at Mango Mike’s on SGI.  There is still time for you to be a sponsor for the event by calling us at 850-370-0116 or emailing ecccfranklin@gmail.com.  The sponsor deadline is July 23 so call us soon and make your pledge to get your name or logo on our race day banner and marketing.  Tickets for the race and post race party are on Eventbrite.  This is our big fundraiser of the year and we are counting on the community to help us continue the work that ECCC has begun to bridge the gaps in services to those over age 55 living in Franklin County.   Support the seniors that are your neighbors and community by supporting ECCC.ECCC is a 501(c)(3) organization and we rely on donations and volunteers to make a difference in the lives of everyone over age 55 living in Franklin County Florida.  www.ecccfranklin.org.
