Big Bend Hospice Goodie Bags

This Saturday, August 2, would have been the ECCC SGI Sizzler 5K Race & One Mile Fun Run, but due to COVID-19, the event was cancelled. The Sizzler is the big fundraiser for Elder Care Community Council of Franklin County, ECCC, and this year would be the third year that  ECCC, would organize the race, and the 23rd year for the island tradition.  For the first 20 years, the Franklin County Humane Society was the beneficiary of the race.  ECCC thanks all of our sponsors, participants and volunteers from last August.  We hope the runners and walkers are still out there running and we look forward to August 7, 2021.
Cara Brown, Professional Relations Liaison with Big Bend Hospice, provided ECCC with tote bags with goodies for seniors.  ECCC appreciates Ms. Brown and Big Bend Hospice for all they do to add to our quality of life.  The Transitions Program offers free support to people with a life-limiting illness and their caregivers.  This program has resources and a social worker that can help people that have received a diagnosis and do not qualify for hospice services.  Call Ms. Brown at 850-878-5310 for more information.
ECCC continues to serve lunch to those over age 55 out of the Holy Family Senior Center in Apalachicola.  Drive in to pick up lunch at 11:30am.  Donations of food and money are appreciated to continue this work.  ECCC could not do what we do without your support.  If you are interested in donating one hour per week at the lunch hour help us deliver lunches to the homebound seniors, let us know.Elder Care Community Council of Franklin County is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving people over age 55 in Franklin County, Florida.  If you or someone you know is in need, please contact us at 850-370-0116 or email us at  Our mailing address is:  ECCC, PO Box 335, Eastpoint, FL 32328.  You can like us on FaceBook at ECCC-E Triple C.
